BuySellAds alternatives for niche sites

BuySellAds, and four other ways to sell ad space to a specific audience. Each one is good at something AdsAnyway is not. Numbers below are only what their own pages said.

AdsAnyway is new. Right now a small number of sites are listed; each listing shows its real daily loads.

BuySellAds

A team that sells sponsorships for you.

BuySellAds is a platform where advertisers and publishers buy and sell advertising. The publisher page, checked on 2026-10-10, sends site owners to Carbon. Two paths are described there. Carbon Direct: they pitch your inventory, negotiate, and handle contracts, billing, and campaign work. Carbon Network: contextual ads that do not use cookies, placed with the Carbon tag or API, for independent publications, communities, creators, and open-source projects.

That is the real strength. Someone else holds the advertiser conversations. You do not set a public day price on a listing page, and you wait for their team to decide there is a fit.

Minimum traffic: not stated. Revenue share: not stated. The terms say payment, cashout, and similar rules are accepted during account registration, and that you must be over 18.

Carbon

BuySellAds' curated network for developers and designers. Not a separate company.

Carbon's own FAQ, last reviewed by them on 2 September 2026, is the detailed publisher page. You join by invitation. They look at whether their ads fit your audience, your monthly page views, whether the site is maintained, whether they have room, and whether you can follow their terms, including exclusivity. They answer applications in 5 to 7 business days.

The network is exclusive. You agree to show only Carbon ads, and not to use Carbon as backfill. The audience they name is English-speaking developers and designers, mainly in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

They publish a typical range of $1.20 to $2.30 per thousand impressions, and say geography, clicks, and demand move it, and that no rate is guaranteed. Publisher revenue share: not stated. Earnings go into a BuySellAds account within 30 days of the month closing, and can be withdrawn within 60 days. The account minimum is $1 before the method minimums: PayPal $20, check $50, wire $500 with a $35 fee.

The strength is a single curated ad for a design or developer audience, with the commercial work done for you. The limit is the same as any curated network: they can say no, and they do not publish the share you keep.

EthicalAds

A developer ad network with a published share.

EthicalAds says it is seeking developer-focused sites with 50,000 or more monthly pageviews. Their publisher guide does not say they reject every site under that number, so a hard minimum is not stated. You apply, install their ad client, and then request approval before paid ads run. Until then you serve unpaid ads.

Their publisher policy says you keep 70% of the money they make. Payouts are monthly, with a $50 minimum. Their goal is to pay by the 15th for the balance at the end of the prior month. Methods they list: Stripe Connect (bank transfer), PayPal, OpenCollective, and GitHub Sponsors.

Paid ads have placement rules: one EthicalAds ad on the page, above the fold on desktop and mobile unless you turn mobile off, and not inside the body text. They also want the placement to reach at least a 0.1% click rate. You may show your own promotion, or another network, when they have nothing paid, including on a share of visitors, as long as two networks are not on the same page at once.

The strength is a clear share, a developer audience, and a fallback when they have no paid ad. Their guide also says publishers generally see around $2.50 per 1,000 pageviews when most traffic is in the EU and North America, and that it varies. That is their estimate, not a promise.

beehiiv Ad Network

Offers inside a newsletter product, plus a way to sell your own sponsorships.

beehiiv's Ad Network help page, updated 1 October 2026, says the network is for people on a paid plan who are actively sending. You add up to three tags and a description, then browse offers and claim the ones you want. A subscriber minimum is not stated on that page.

Offers are CPM or CPC. A $5 CPM, in their example, pays $5 per 1,000 unique opens. A $2 CPC pays $2 per payable click. What beehiiv keeps on top of those rates: not stated. Payouts are processed on the 20th for ads placed in the previous month, and they require Stripe Express. If Stripe Express is not available in your country, their page says you cannot take Ad Network payouts.

Direct sponsorships are separate, on Pro or Enterprise. There you price your own products and sell them yourself. The share beehiiv takes on those sales: not stated.

The strength is that they bring offers to a newsletter you already send, and you can refuse the ones that do not fit. It is not a site banner you drop on a gaming page. You need to publish on beehiiv.

Paved

Newsletter sponsorships, direct and automatic.

Paved's publisher page says a free account has no subscription fee. Flat-fee scheduled ads need at least 50,000 subscribers. Per-click native ads need at least 1 million monthly impressions. You set your own rates for direct partnerships, and you can refuse an advertiser.

Their publisher terms say the marketplace pays your fixed fee minus the platform fee displayed in the product when the campaign is requested. A single percent is not stated. They pay within 60 days after the end of the month, and they do not have to pay until the amount due is over $1,000. Payment also depends on them actually receiving the advertiser's money. Signing the terms does not guarantee you are approved, and they can refuse a newsletter.

The strength is direct pricing on a newsletter, with spare space filled by per-click ads, and a dashboard for bookings. The bar is high: tens of thousands of subscribers, or a million impressions, and a $1,000 payout floor.

Where AdsAnyway fits

AdsAnyway is for a niche or gaming site that wants to name a day price and take a booking on the open web. There is no traffic minimum. You keep 85%. You also have to find the buyer, and today there are only a small number of listed sites.

Choose BuySellAds or Carbon when you want a team to sell a curated developer or design audience. Choose EthicalAds when you want a published 70% share on a developer site. Choose beehiiv or Paved when the inventory is a newsletter, not a page slot.

Questions

Is Carbon a different company from BuySellAds?

No. The BuySellAds publisher page sends site owners to Carbon, and the Carbon FAQ says earnings are deposited into a BuySellAds account under the BuySellAds terms.

Which of these lets me set the price?

On AdsAnyway you set the price per day. On Paved you set rates for direct placements. beehiiv direct sponsorships, on a Pro or Enterprise plan, let you price your own products. EthicalAds pays a published share of what they make. Carbon does not publish a publisher share.

What does not stated mean?

The vendor's own page did not give that figure. This page does not fill the gap from blogs or old reviews.
